Q: Can I use your art for free, for non-commercial purposes?
A: That depends what on you want to do.
-Desktops BG: You MAY use it for desktop backgrounds, phone backgrounds, lock screens, screen savors, that sort of thing.
-Social Profiles: I would prefer it if you did NOT use my art for your social media profile pictures or other places for profile or channel art. However, if you do so anyway, please clearly link to my deviantart in your profile description or other clearly visible place wherever my art appears. (I may offer legit commissions or something for this eventually.)
-Social Sharing: You MAY share my art on other social media, ONLY IF you do not crop out my signature/name, AND leave a clear link to my deviantart.
-Misc: If you want to print out my art for your own personal use, such as inserting into the sleeve of a school binder, I suppose this is ok, but leave my signature. If your issue is not covered, please ask. When in doubt, don’t use my art.
-Commercial Theft: If you want to steal my art without permission or payment or credit, use it in commercial products, professional/business websites, or other commercial use, the answer is NO. If you spot art theft, please notify the artist, and also the platform holder if relevant. (If you want to hire me commercially to make art for you, that is a different matter.)
-Other Misuse: If you want to trace my art, claim as your own, copy my art, or crop out/remove my signature, the answer is NO. If you want to make an art piece LOOSELY inspired by one of mine, that’s maybe ok(?) but please at least change the pose and design somewhat! This is probably a bad idea for teaching yourself anyway, as copying other people’s art leads to inheriting their weaknesses on top of your own.

People are not really asking me these questions yet, but I feel as if this would be good to get out there, right? And like desktop bg use is totally ok. :)
